Nicole Brabham Cook was born in Roanoke, Virginia, and spent her early childhood in Hardy, Virginia, where she was active at Ninevah Church of the Brethren. She was baptized at the age of 10, and ministry was an important part of her childhood. Her mother served as a music minister and later married Nicole’s stepfather, who shared the same profession. As a result, choir robes, Vacation Bible School, and Christmas plays became familiar parts of Nicole’s upbringing.
Nicole met the love of her life while attending Roanoke City Public Schools. They welcomed a child when Nicole was 18 years old and later married. The challenges of teen years and early adulthood temporarily diverted Nicole from the path she believed God had planned for her life. After a period of difficulty, she became determined to renew her faith. She moved beyond the back row and began serving God with purpose and dedication
Nicole became active in her church and later enrolled in Word of Life Bible School. There, she met three women with whom she shared love, hardships, and mentorship. Through weekly gatherings and frequent communication, the four women recognized that their talents and experiences could be used to encourage and support women of all ages birthed Prepared Pearls Ministry.
This experience also inspired Nicole to complete her bachelor’s degree in Apologetics and Cultural Engagement at Liberty University.
Nicole’s favorite scripture is Matthew 6:25–27
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?.
